Bought these boots after reading reviews of Dan Post, Nocona, Justin, and Chippewa boots. I wanted an every day work boot that would protect me in the woods and pastures, and that would last for as long as I could wear them out. I wanted protection from snakes (copperheads, mostly), something I could pull on and off without a lot of work, and comfort in temperatures from freezing to over 100 degrees.I am very glad I bought these Dan Post boots. They fit perfectly, right on size, right out of the box. They were comfortable without needing a break in period. I wore them every day for 2 weeks as soon as I got them, working clearing pastures from woods and they were exactly what I hoped for. Now I wear them to work in several times a week, and they are great for all I do.The workmanship is excellent, they look very good, they fit comfortably, and they stand up to use. We'll see how they do over time, but I can say without reservation that I would buy these boots again, as my first choice.Update Dec 2020, 4 and 1/2 years later. Well , these boots gave out after a few years. Honestly, I can't blame the boot--I got them wet, I stomped out a bunch of wood pile fires with them and I was not very careful with them. They were farm boots, pasture boots, and barn boots. Still they lasted at least 3 1/2 years without a problem. Oh no, that's not true. The rubber pad on the heel of one boot came off and I had to nail it back on with a tack hammer. Kind of felt like the cobbler elves in "The Elves and the Shoemaker"! But, finally, the sole separated from the leather and I have big holes in the side of the boots. No elf can fix that.I guess I could blame that on the boot or the maker, but in fact, it is my fault. I am very very very hard on boots, and these held up about 2 years longer than I expected. I burned them, wet them, flooded them and abused them and they are just still the coolest boot ever made. They look MARVELOUS! Every time I wear them (even with the secret holes in the side) I get compliments. When I pull them on, I FEEL like a cowboy, even if I'm just a farmer slogging thru the back pastures.I will ABOLUTELY buy another pair, if my people don't buy one for me. I do have them in my wish list, hint, hint.If you want the truth, I love these boots, I'll certainly buy another pair, and I do notice you looking at me when I walk past while wearing them.
